THE SISTERHOOD OF THE WORLD BLOGGERS AWARD!

screen-shot-1937-07-07-at-1-48-20-pm-png

I’m very much new to blogging but have enjoyed every single frustrating, staring-at-the-blank-screen-with-nothing-to-write, sudden-ideas-tumbling-out, confusing, deciding-what-to-write, wondering-if-it’s-good-enough and satisfactory-peaceful moments. And it’s nice to know that someone reads what you have written. Even more wonderful is that bubbly feeling inside you when you are appreciated and for this I’m very much grateful to Sneha ( https://lifeasapotpourri.wordpress.com/ )

You have no idea Sneha but you made my day, especially when I needed it ! 😀

Rules for the award:

  1. Thank the giver and link their blog to your post.
  2. Answer the 10 questions given to you.
  3. Pass the award on to ‘N’ (as many as you want) other bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated.
  4. Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog.

Questions asked by Sneha:

How has blogging changed your daily life?

My life practically took a roundabout ever since I started blogging. I’m spending way too many hours on the computer and meeting (virtually) all these amazing people! I sleep later than I’m used to. I’m extremely cranky when I can’t find the right word for a particular sentence. But you know what? I’m happy (literally) :D. Everyday I wake up with a smile on my face, and I think to myself ‘Today is gonna be a lovely day’. I now know what Master Shifu ( from Kung Fu Panda) meant by inner peace.

Define your self in five words.

Independent.

Sarcastic.

Imaginative.

Filthy-mind.

Sisters-before-misters 😛

What do you think liberates the woman today?

Accepting who you are, knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and doing what you love without caring what others think is what liberates the woman today.

What do you think the biggest global feminist issue is?

Social inequality and violence against women. If you think about it, the latter is caused due to the former. Even in the 21st century, majority of places in the world face this very problem. We need to inculcate that male and female are equals, that it is the not about gender but about purpose, that men do not have the upper hand and, that both the genders work together and not against.

Who is your favorite female author and why?

I have more than one favorite and they are all amazing people whom I wish I could meet someday. Few of them are;

J.K.Rowling, Sophie Kinsella, Jodi Picoult, Jane Austen, Suzanne Collins, Richelle Mead, E.L.James, Kristin and P.C.Cast, Meg Cabot. And the list goes on and on and on…

I love them because they made me laugh, they made me weep, they made me think, they taught me important lessons, and they had me hooked to their books till the end.

Do you think “Feminism” is overrated?

Not at all. But if anyone thinks it is then they haven’t seen the world outside or they don’t know what it really means. ‘Feminism’ does not mean you hate men and like girls or anything of that sort. It just means that you like equality in a world like ours. And ‘feminism’ for everyone not men or women.

One thing that you think you would want to change about yourself.

I would really like to gain control of my mouth. I say the most stupidest things when I’m excited and the meanest things when I’m upset. I talk without thinking it through and that lands me in trouble. I badly need a filter.

If you were hosting a Girls Night Out what would be your anthem song?

Who run the world by Beyonce !! (Hands down)

If you had to choose a Board of Directors representing your All Women Company who all would you appoint and why?

Oprah Winfrey – cause she is amazing, always gets her way and is the media queen.

Mother Teresa – She is the voice of wisdom and is like my Granny.

Rosie The Riveter – Proof that women can be as good and mean as men.

Rosa Parks – She can put a helluva fight and get the domino falling.

Jennifer Lawrence – Because she is weird and has embraced it.

Kalpana Chawla – She was what is called gutsy.

Lara Coft – She can kick your butt in style.

Vinita Bali – Knows the tricks of the trade that are legal and gives priority to health and safety.

Merida (Brave) – Makes her own path and knows archery.

One advice or piece of learning you would want to tell your daughter and one to your son in future.

To the daughter;

Do what you gotta do but make sure that your head remains on your shoulders while you do it. Treat others like you would like to be treated.

To the son;

Think with your head and feel with your heart. Everyone are equal. Made a mistake? Fine. Ask forgiveness the minute you realize it.
